Colombo: Arjun Tendulkar, son of batting legend Sachin Tendulkar, did reasonably well with the ball, claiming his first international wicket against Sri Lanka U-19 team. But it was different ball game with the bat, as he was out for a duck at the Nondescripts Cricket Club in Colombo.
Arjun Tendulkar was dismissed by Sri Lanka’s Shashika Dulshan. The 18-year-old all-rounder played 11 deliveries but failed to open his account.
Interestingly, father, Sachin, was also dismissed for a duck in his ODI debut against Pakistan in 1989. Earlier, Arjun had a dream beginning to his career, as he needed only 12 balls to claim his first international wicket by trapping Kamil Mishara lbw. The visiting India U-19 team piled up a huge total of 589 runs after bowling out Sri Lanka U-19 for 244 in the first innings.
