India will host England for a three-match ODI series after the completion of T20 International tri-series, featuring India, England and Australia.

India women will be hosting England for a three-match One-Day International (ODI) series in March, BCCI announced on Monday.

The ODI series will be played after the after the T20 International tri-series, featuring India, England and Australia.

The BCCI announced that it has reached a bilateral agreement with the England and Wales Cricket Board (ECB) over the issue.

Prior to the T20I series, India will host Australia in a three-match ODI series in Vadodara.

The matches will be part of ICC Women’s Championship (2017-2020) and will be held between March 12 and March 18.

Earlier this year, India played England twice in the Women’s World Cup, which was held in England in June-July.

India began the tournament against hosts England and ended it against the same opponent in the final, where they failed to go over the line.

India had a perfect start to the World Cup as they completely outdid hosts England in all departments and won their opener by 35 runs.

The top three of the Indian batting line-up, Punam Raut, Smriti Mandhana and Mithali Raj, all scored above 50 to steer India to a big total of 281.

In reply, England captain Heather Knight and Fran Wilson put forth some resistance with 46 and 81 runs respectively but fell short of partners and were unable to guide their team to a victory.

However, in the final, India lost by a mere nine runs against the hosts despite a brilliant spell by veteran Jhulan Goswami and it was a heartbreak for the whole nation.

India performed their hearts out in the final but it was England’s Anya Shrubsole whose magical spell took the winners’ trophy away.

The most interesting quality of the Indian team that came out through the World Cup was that different players stepped up for the team on different days and that’s exactly what made it a team effort.
