It is game number 14 today between Mumbai Indians and Royal Challengers Bangalore at the iconic Wankhede Stadium. What draws interest is the fact that both teams have had three games in the tournament and Mumbai Indians are yet to have a positive outing. Equally important is that the two teams need a win to stay in the tournament. Last year’s champions Mumbai Indians would look to prove their might in front of their home crowd.

The usually Midas Rohit Sharma seems to have lost it losing thrice on the trot. Having some really explosive players what has hurt Mumbai Indians this season is lack of performance as a team. After getting off to a superb start in the previous outing which helped the team post an impressive194/7, their bowlers could not wrap it up, losing to Delhi Daredevils by 7 wickets at home.

In that game except for Krunal Pandya and Mustafizur Rahman none of the other bowlers managed to pick a wicket. The fielding, which otherwise had been commendable so far, was just below average on the day adding salt to an already wounded Mumbai Indians.

RCB, on the other hand, has just had a win against Kings XI Punjab nd would like to turn their fortunes against Mumbai after having missed it against RR and KKR earlier. RCB lost their last match against Rajasthan Royals by 19 runs after the onslaught by Sanju Samson who scored a 45-ball 92 which saw them post a formidable total. Though Virat scored his fastest fifty in T20 cricket off just 26 deliveries, he could not take the team to the target of 218, getting out for 57 from 30 deliveries. Brendon McCullum’s lack of form will be a cause for worry to RCB after he failed in two of three games. Quinton De Kock will certainly have to look to stay on in the middle for a bit longer.
