Sylhet Sixers batsman Sabbir Rahman has been docked half his match fee for misbehaving with an on-field umpire, after his team’s four-wicket victory over Comilla Victorians on Sunday (November 5).

Sabbir was found to have behaved aggressively with umpire Mahfuzur Rahman Litu at the end of the match when players were exchanging greetings. Cricbuzz has learnt that the batsman was seen to be verbally abusing Litu for giving him LBW, on three, off Mohammad Nabi.

“He’s committed a Level 2 offence,” match referee Debroboto Paul told Cricbuzz on Monday. “Fifty percent of his match fee has been cut, along with [the player being given] three demerits points.”

Sixers successfully chased down the 146-run target off the penultimate ball to win their second successive game in BPL 2017.
