Google Maps has received more than a couple of updates in recent months and now, users will be able to share their Live location as well as ETA for bus or train journey through the platform. With the new Google Maps update, users will be able to share the progress of the bus or train with their family or friends on which they are traveling.

The new Google Maps feature will also allow users to share live location as well as ETA with their Google contacts Google but also with the anyone who is using apps such as Facebook Messenger, Hangouts and WhatsApp, which need third-party access. On the other hand, the option to share your live location or ETA for bus and train trips is limited to Android devices only, however, the Live location sharing feature is also expected to be released on iOS soon.

Google Maps now allows Live location sharing: Here’s how you can share your Live location

1.Open the Google Maps app on your smartphone.

2.Add your destination.

3.Navigate to the Transit Tab

4.Enable navigation for the best possible route

5.Tap on the Share Trip button which will be present at the bottom-right corner.

6.The list of contacts will come up and you will have the option to choose a third-party app.

7.Choose the app and contact, and share your location or ETA for bus and train journey.

The Live location sharing feature on Google Maps will be useful if you’re going to meet someone but you also want the said person to know where you have reached or your train has been delayed. On the other hand, it will be even more useful when you are walking back home and want someone to know that you have reached home safely.
