Huawei Mate 20 Pro now on sale in India for Amazon Prime users

The Huawei Mate 20 Pro is now available for purchase in India via Amazon. The company announced during the launch event that the Mate 20 Pro will go on sale starting Monday, December 3, but this will only be available for Amazon Prime users. For non-Prime users, the phone will be available starting midnight December 4. The Mate 20 Pro is the first Mate-series phone to launch in India and it highlights a triple camera setup, Kirin 980 chipset and 40W fast charging support, among other things.

The Huawei Mate 20 Pro India price is set at Rs 69,990. This model comes with 6GB of RAM and 128GB of internal storage. Huawei will also be launching a special edition Mate 20 RS Porsche Design at a later date. For the Mate 20 Pro, Amazon India is offering 10 per cent instant discount with IndusInd Bank Cards and RBL Bank Credit Cards, No Cost EMI on Bajaj Finserv EMI cards and all major credit cards. Idea/ Vodafone users can also avail 20 per cent rental discount or additional data benefits.

Huawei Mate 20 Pro specifications

The Huawei Mate 20 Pro comes with a premium design language that draws on the Samsung Galaxy S9. It gets a 3D glass protection on the front and back that curves around the edges and seamlessly meets the frame. The rear panel sports a gradient colour design in Twilight colour. The phone is also offered in Emerald Green colour.

The latest Huawei flagship offers a 6.39-inch 2K+ (1440×3120) OLED display with 538 ppi pixel density and 86.90 screen-to-body ratio. The display gets a wide notch that houses a bunch of sensors such as Flood Illuminator, Dot Projector, IR cameras, ambient light sensor and a selfie camera. Some of these sensors are used for 3D face unlock and for improved selfies by creating a 3D model of the face.

One of the highlights of the Mate 20 Pro is that it is powered by the latest Kirin 980 chipset from Huawei which is based on a 7nm process that delivers a marked improvement in performance and power efficiency over its predecessor. The chipset also comes with dual NPU for advanced AI computation. This is coupled with up to 6GB of RAM. The Mate 20 Pro offers 128GB of internal storage with support for expandability up to 256GB via microSD card.

The other big highlight is the Leica-branded triple camera matrix setup on the back. The system includes a 40MP wide-angle lens with f/1.8 aperture, a 20MP Ultra wide-angle lense with f/2.2 aperture and an 8MP telephoto lens with f/2.4 aperture. The cameras also support laser and phase detection auto focus as well as AIS (AI-based stabilisation). On the front, the Mate 20 Pro sports a 24MP 3D depth sensing camera.

The Mate 20 Pro houses a 4,200mAh battery with 40W SuperCharge support. The Mate 20 Pro also supports 15W wireless charging support and Huawei will be bringing its wireless charger to India as well. Notably, the phone offers a feature called Reverse Wireless Charging. Connectivity options for the Mate 20 Pro include 4G LTE, hybrid SIM slot, Wi-Fi 802.11ac, Bluetooth 5.0, GPS, GLONASS and USB Type-C support. The Mate 20 Pro ships with EMUI 9 based on Android 9 Pie.
