Nokia will launch its first laptop in India soon and it is confirmed to be called PureBook X14. Flipkart has been teasing a new Nokia laptop is coming soon but the name PureBook X14 was confirmed recently. The teaser for the Nokia PureBook X14 shows what the laptop looks like while specifying some specifications on the dedicated page. Nokia was supposed to launch multiple laptop models, according to the BIS listing, but only one model has showed up as of now. There could be more Nokia laptops in the offing.

The new laptops bear the Nokia branding but they do not belong to HMD Global. Nokia has likely partnered Flipkart to sell these laptops wherein the e-commerce company will handle after-sales services for them. The BIS listing that was spotted some days back suggested that these laptops are manufactured by Tongfang HongKong in Jiangsu, China. The Nokia-branded laptops are not new though. The company has sold a good range of laptops and netbooks in select markets back during its heydays. Although Nokia never sold one in India, so these upcoming laptops are technically new for the market.

Nokia PureBook X14 Specifications
Not a lot is known about the upcoming Nokia PureBook X14 laptop, but there are a few things that the Flipkart teaser has confirmed. First of them is that the Nokia PureBook X14 will come with an Intel Core i5 processor. This will be the 10th-generation Comet Lake processor that Intel introduced earlier this year. This means the new laptop from Nokia will be positioned in the mid-range, from where it can take on Xiaomi head-on. Xiaomi sells Mi Notebook laptops in India starting at Rs 37,000.

Besides, the Nokia PureBook X14 will come with Dolby Vision and Dolby Atmos standards for picture and audio quality, which is impressive especially if the laptop is going to be priced for around Rs 40,000. Dolby Vision is something that most gaming laptops or premium-end laptops come with, so Nokia might be bringing this feature to masses with the PureBook X14. The Dolby Atmos standard for audio is also something that you cannot find on most mid-range laptops, which is also why the PureBook X14 may stand out in the sea of similarly specced laptops.

Look-wise, the Nokia PureBook X14 does look like just another mid-range laptop, although there are a few things that might go in its favour. For instance, the teaser image shows the laptop to come with very thin bezels around the display, making the watching experience good. There is only the alphanumeric keyboard on the laptop, meaning the display size could max out at 14 inches, if not less. There is a large touchpad, as well. The image also shows a webcam on the laptop. Nokia PureBook X14 also has HDMI and USB 3.0 ports on the side. And finally, it will be “lightweight” at only 1.1 kilograms, according to Flipkart.

Nokia was said to be working on both Intel Core i5 and Core i3 laptops, which is why it is possible the PureBook X14 might have Core i3 versions. If this holds true, the top-end model of the PureBook X14 laptop might be expensive, somewhere along the lines of premium-range laptops in India that cost north of Rs 60,000. Nokia’s non-mobile portfolio is aggressively priced, which is something that we can go by to assume what the PureBook X14 laptops are going to cost. Anyway, Flipkart is likely to announce the launch date soon for the Nokia PureBook X14 laptops, along with more specifications and features.
