Just like all previous OnePlus phones, the upcoming OnePlus 6T will also be exclusive to Amazon in India. The teaser ‘notify me’ page for the OnePlus 6T went live on Amazon India on Wednesday, and the company has also started teasing the phone through commercials on TV to go along with the ongoing Asia Cup cricket tournament. Bollywood actor Amitabh Bachchan features in the advertisement seemingly highlighting one of the OnePlus 6T’s headlining features aka in-display fingerprint scanner. But more importantly, the OnePlus 6T is coming soon, something that is also clearly mentioned in the Amazon India teaser page.

The confirmation and teasers come just three months after OnePlus launched the OnePlus 6 and although the OnePlus 6T is expected to retain much of the hardware set of its predecessor, it is expected to pack some new technologies to seemingly justify the ‘T’ upgrade. The OnePlus 6T, for starters, will be the first OnePlus phone to ditch a conventional fingerprint scanner in favour of an in-display fingerprint scanner. This would most likely be similar to what Vivo is using in its Nex and V11 Pro phones, and Oppo is using in the R17 Pro. Oppo, Vivo and OnePlus, to recall, are sister brands and they are known to actively share technologies from time to time.

Another change that is making the cut with the OnePlus 6T is the lack of a headphone jack. OnePlus, in a blog post recently, had confirmed that the time is now right to omit the headphone jack. The company had said that it is doing it so it can make improvements in other areas, battery capacity for instance. The OnePlus 6T, is therefore, expected to cram a larger battery with some reports suggesting that even wireless charging could be a new feature of the OnePlus 6T. OnePlus phones and their Dash Charging tech have received critical acclaim from users and critics alike, and chances are OnePlus may take things to an all new level in its next phone.

The OnePlus 6T will most likely be powered by a Qualcomm Snapdragon 845 processor and should be made available in a number of RAM and ROM configurations. It will also most likely ship with Android 9 Pie-based Oxygen OS.
