In several hours from now, OnePlus will launch the OnePlus 6T, its next flagship phone. The OnePlus 6T, which succeeds the OnePlus 6, will be launched at an event in New York. The event will start at 11am ET time, which means if you are following the OnePlus 6T launch event from India, you will have to be in front of your computer or on phone at 8.30PM tonight.

The OnePlus 6T is the successor to the OnePlus 6. So far indications are that the phone will have a design similar to that of the OnePlus 6 along with the same core hardware, including up to 8GB RAM and the Snapdragon 845 processor. The new bits in the OnePlus 6T are going to be a futuristic fingerprint sensor embedded under the display, a bigger screen with waterdrop notch and improved Oxygen OS based on the latest Android 9 Pie.

OnePlus has also teased that the OnePlus 6T will feature improved camera functionality, although the camera hardware is likely to be the same that is inside the OnePlus6. In other words, OnePlus 6T will have a dual-camera setup at the back, and single camera on the front. Another change in the new phone compared to the OnePlus 6 is the battery size. The new OnePlus 6T is going to come with a larger 3700 mAh battery.

Finally, there is the missing 3.5mm jack. OnePlus has confirmed that the OnePlus 6T will not have a the regular 3.5mm jack. This will make the OnePlus 6T similar to the likes of iPhone XR and Google Pixel 3, which too lack headphone jack.

How to watch OnePlus 6T launch event live streaming

OnePlus will livestream the New York launch event for the OnePlus 6T. At the event, the keynote will be from the company CEO Pete Lau — next day though in Delhi, the OnePlus 6T launch event will have the keynote from co-founder Carl Pei — and the whole event will available on the OnePlus website as well as on YouTube.

OnePlus 6T price and India launch

While many details about the OnePlus 6T are known, the price is an unknown commodity. Chances are that globally we are going to see a slight increase in the price of the OnePlus 6T. It may come with the starting price of around $600.

The India price too may go up by around Rs 1,000, though chances are that even the 128GB version will continue to have a price of less than Rs 40,000 in India. The India price for the OnePlus 6T will be revealed during the India launch of the phone that takes place on October 30, which will also be livestreamed.

The OnePlus 6T in India will go on sale from November 2. Consumers who want it early can already pre-book the phone on Amazon India, or will get a chance to get it at pop-up events that OnePlus is holding in nine Indian cities and in 12 locations on November 2.
