The OnePlus 8 series is all set to make its way to the markets this April but ahead of the big launch, there has been some important revelation about the features by OnePlus co-founder and CEO. Pete Lau in an interview confirmed that the soon to release OnePlus 8 series will come with 5G support. This, however, will also increase the prices of the devices but Lau confirmed that in any case, the prices won’t touch $1000 mark.

In an interview with CNET, OnePlus co-founder Pete Lau talked extensively about implementing the 5G support in their latest line-up of smartphones.

“I want to restate our commitment to 5G and our long term investment. We’ve been investing in 5G for several years and we see this as the direction going forward and one we’re very much committed to, Lau told the daily.
Lau also spoke about the hike in prices due to the enhanced technology. He said, We’ve always had a position in creating the best product possible at the best price point. The new technology does add costs so costs have risen in comparison to 4G products.”

OnePlus have always stood out for providing flagship-level technology at affordable prices but with things might not be the same with the next series. However, Lau assured that this year only the pro version will get a little expensive but the price nowhere is around the $1000 mark. “I think that this year again everyone should expect a lot to look forward to in 5G products with a reasonable price, he added.

Coming to the specifications, it is no secret that the OnePlus 8 and OnePlus 8 Pro will be the company’s premium flagships while the OnePlus 8 lite will reportedly be a mid-ranger. Both the OnePlus 8 and OnePlus 8 Pro will have a refresh rate of 120Hz and will be powered by Qualcomm Snapdragon 865 SoC and feature punch-hole displays. The OnePlus 8 Lite will feature a 90hz display and will be driven by a MediaTek chipset.

The screen sizes of OnePlus8 and OnePlus 8 Pro will be around 6.5 to 6.8 inch. The OnePlus 8 will come with a triple-camera setup while the OnePlus 8 Pro is tipped to come with a quad-camera setup. The OnePlus 8 will reportedly house a 4000 mah with a 30T Warp charge feature while the OnePlus 8 Pro will have a slightly bigger 4500 mAh battery with 10V 5A Super Warp fast charging support.
