Realme announces MWC 2020 event, Snapdragon 865 phone and Realme TV launch expected

MWC 2020 is a major event in the tech world wherein a big number of smartphone companies participate to show off their new technologies and products. The tech convention also offers a platform for new companies to gain a global identity. The two-year-old smartphone brand Realme has now teased it is attending the MWC 2020 where the launch of a new smartphone is expected. The announcement was made by Realme in a cryptic manner though Realme posted an image on Twitter that asks Where to host realme 1st Global Launch? followed by the geographic coordinates of a location that belong to Barcelona.

Realme is making its first appearance at the global tech event where it will likely announce its foray into more markets, probably the European ones. It is not clear what products will be launched at Realme’s MWC 2020 event but a strong guess would be the long-rumoured Snapdragon 865-powered phone and the company’s first smart television called Realme TV. There has been a mysterious Realme phone with a Qualcomm Snapdragon 865 processor that has popped up on AnTuTu benchmarking website. The name of the phone and other details are unknown as of now.

Another product that could see the light of day is the Realme TV. Realme TV was recently teased by Realme CMO Francis Wang in one of his tweets. He said that something exciting is going to be announced about TV at the MWC 2020. Now, it is not clear whether it will just be an announcement, a showcase of the upcoming TV, or a formal launch of Realme’s first television. In fact, the details on the Realme TV are also scarce presently. With the launch of its smart television, Realme will compete with the likes of brands such as OnePlus, Xiaomi, Nokia, and Motorola.

Realme could also show off its 5G solutions, in the form of technologies it is currently working on or the Snapdragon 865 phone that is expected. The company launched its first 5G smartphone the Realme X50 5G in January in China.

At the MWC, Realme’s event will begin at 10 am local time, which translates to 2.30 pm IST on February 24.
