Redmi Note 8 details confirmed: Snapdragon 665, 48MP camera, price under Rs 10,000 and more

Redmi has confirmed to launch the Redmi Note 8 series on August 29. The series that includes two smartphones — Redmi Note 8 and the Redmi Note 8 Pro — will launch in China for now. Ahead of the launch, the company has confirmed several details of the Redmi Note 8 and the Redmi Note 8 Pro. Last week the company confirmed that the Redmi Note 8 Pro will come with Helio G90T chip from MediaTek and 64MP rear main camera. Now the company confirms some more key details about the Redmi Note 8.

The Redmi Note 8 will be a much-upgraded version of the Redmi Note 7, the company has confirmed. At least on paper, the Redmi Note 8 will be powerful. The company has officially revealed that the Redmi Note 8 will be powered by Qualcomm Snapdragon 665 processor that also powers the recent launched Xiaomi Mi A3 Android One smartphone. The Redmi Note 7 comes with Snapdragon 660 processor.

Redmi also confirms that the Redmi Note 8 will come with triple cameras on the rear panel. The company further reveals some camera specs of the smartphone. It confirms that the Redmi Note 8 will come packed with a primary 48MP main camera, secondary Super Wide Angle, third will be a Depth of Field lens and lastly, the fourth one will be a Super Macro lens.

In addition, the Redmi Note 8 is also confirmed to come with 4500mAh battery with 18W fast charging support. However, some rumours and leaks suggest that the Redmi Note 8 will come bundled with a 10W charger inside the box.

Both the Redmi Note 8 and the Redmi Note 8 series are expected to include Dot drop notch on the front that will include the selfie shooter inside it and also increase the screen-to-body ratio. The Redmi Note 7 series of phones also come with Dot drop notch. Some rumours and leaks also suggest that the Redmi Note 8 series of phones will also – similar to the Redmi Note 7 series – come with Gorilla Glass 5 support.

Besides the specs, the price bracket of the Redmi Note 8 is also confirmed. The company has confirmed that the Redmi Note 8 will be priced similar to the China price of the Redmi Note 7. The price of the Redmi Note 8 is said to be under 1000 Yuan or under Rs 10,000. The Redmi Note 7 sells for Rs 9,999 in India.
