Despite being two generations old, the Samsung Galaxy S9 and S9+ are quite popular with buyers. The phones currently are available at heavily discounted prices making them great buys for those looking to buy a flagship on the cheap.

And now, there is news which would make them more appealing to buyers. The Android 10 beta program for the two appears to have finally ended with the company rolling out the final build of Android 10 based One UI 2 to S9 and S9+ users who had previously signed up for the beta program.

The update that has been released for beta users has the same firmware version as the update that rolled out to Android Pie users earlier this week — G96*FXXU7DTAA.

As per SamMobile, the update has already started to roll-out to users in India, and is expected to be available in other countries where Samsung carried out beta tests. The update has been revealed to come with the January 2020 security patch, which was also released as part of a regular security update earlier.

With the update rolling out to the S9 and S9+, we now have Android 10 reaching Samsung’s wider user base as the company had promised before.

To remind our readers, the Samsung Galaxy S9 sports a 5.8-inch WQHD+ (1440×2960) Super AMOLED display while the larger Galaxy S9+ sports a 6.1-inch display with similar resolution. Both the phones come with 18.5:9 aspect ratios. In terms of the processor, the Galaxy S9 and Galaxy S9+ are powered by the company’s latest octa-core Exynos 9810 chips.

The Galaxy S9 bears a single 12-megapixel dual-pixel sensor with adjustable aperture (f1.5/f.2.4) and OIS. The Galaxy S9+ gets a 12-megapixel dual rear camera setup with a similar primary lens as the Galaxy S9 and a secondary camera being a telephoto lens with f/2.4 aperture. The rear camera also gets the ability to shoot slo-mo videos at up to 960 frames per second.

The smaller Galaxy S9 packs a 3,000mAh battery while the Galaxy S9+ comes with a larger 3,500mAh battery capacity.
