Xiaomi has launched the Redmi Note 6 Pro in India for a starting price of Rs 13,999. The phone comes in a two variants and both of them will go on sale in the country for the first time tomorrow, November 23. This will a flash sale and will happen on Flipkart and Xiaomi’s own website, Mi.com. Overall, the Redmi Note 6 Pro isn’t a major upgrade over the Redmi Note 5 Pro. The key highlight of the new Note or as Xiaomi calls, “the Naya Note” is its four camera setup.

Interestingly, the Redmi Note 6 Pro is the first ever Note series phone to come with a dual selfie camera setup and also a notched display. The Note 6 Pro is the second Xiaomi phone to sport a notched display. The first one is the Redmi 6 Pro which was launched in India in August this year alongside the Redmi 6 and Redmi 6A. Let’s take a quick look at what the new Redmi Note 6 Pro offers to the customers.

Redmi Note 6 Pro specs:

Display: The Redmi Note 6 Pro comes with a 6.26-inch Full HD+ IPS LCD display with an aspect ratio of 19:9.

Processor: Just as the Redmi Note 5 Pro, the Redmi Note 6 Pro is also powered by a 1.8GHz octa-core Qualcomm Snapdragon 636 processor paired with Adreno 509 GPU.

Battery: Yet again similar to the Note 5 Pro, the Redmi Note 6 Pro also comes with a massive 4000mAh battery with Qualcomm’s Quick Charge 3.0 support.

Rear camera: On the rear panel, the Redmi Note 6 Pro includes a dual camera system. It comes with a primary sensor of 12-megapixel with Dual Pixel autofocus and f/1.9 aperture and a secondary sensor of 5-megapixel for depth sensing.

Front camera: As is the case for the back camera, on the front too, the Redmi Note 6 Pro sports a dual selfie camera setup. On the front, the Redmi Note 6 Pro comes packed with a primary sensor of 20-megapixel and a secondary camera with 2-megapixel sensor for portrait selfies.

Software: The phone runs Android 8.1 Oreo based MIUI 10 out-of-the-box.

Colours: It comes in four colour options — red, blue, black, and rose gold.

RAM: The phone comes in two variants — 4GB RAM and 6GB RAM

Storage: The Redmi Note 6 Pro comes in only one storage model – 64GB, which is expandable by a microSD card of up to 256GB.

Redmi Note 6 Pro features:

–As noted, the four camera setup is one of the key highlights of the Redmi Note 6 Pro. The phone’s camera comes with AI focused features and includes a wider aperture of f/1.9 which results in more light intake, thus allowing for clearer, brighter and detailed pictures even in tricky light situations. The Redmi Note 6 Pro also comes with features like AI Portrait 2.0, AI Dynamic Bokeh, studio lighting and more. Additionally, the phone also comes packed with features like AI Scene Detection and Dual Auto Focus. The front cameras of the phone also include features like Super Pixel Technology, AI Portrait, AI scene detection, among other things.

–The Redmi Note 6 Pro is the first phone in the Note series to come with a notched display. The notch on the Note 6 Pro is pretty wide and equips the two selfie cameras, sensors and the earpiece.

–Another highlight of the Redmi Note 6 Pro is that the phone comes with P2i coating. This means that the body of the Xiaomi Redmi Note 6 Pro is built with liquid repellent nanotechnology. In simple words, the Xiaomi phone can withstand everyday splashes and water spills with ease. However, it can’t sustain water immersions.

–Apart from being the first Redmi Note phone to have a notched display and dual selfie cameras, the Redmi Note 6 Pro is also the first one in its lineup to run Android 8.1 Oreo-based MIUI 10 out-of-the-box.

In India, the Redmi Note 6 Pro comes in two variants. The base model comes with 4GB RAM and 64GB of internal storage for a price tag of Rs 13,999. While the top-end model of the packs 6GB RAM and 64GB of internal storage, which is expandable by a microSD card of up to 256GB. This model of the phone comes with a price of Rs 15,999. Xiaomi has launched the Redmi Note 6 Pro phone in four colour options including red, blue, black, and rose gold and all of them will be available for grabs when the phone goes on sale for the first time in India on November 23 on Flipkart and Mi.com.

Xiaomi has partnered with Reliance Jio to offer Rs 2400 cashback to Jio customers. As a part of a special Black Friday sale, the Redmi Note 6 Pro 4GB RAM/64GB storage will be available for Rs 12,999 while the 6GB RAM/64GB storage 14,999. For the Black Friday sale, Xiaomi has also partnered with HDFC Bank to offer Rs 500 discount to the customers.
