Delhi cops rescue 5-year-old boy kidnapped on R-Day eve, 1 kidnapper killed

5-year-old boy of Delhi’s Vivekananda School, who was kidnapped on January 25 from GTB Enclave in the national capital, was rescued from Ghaziabad following a shootout between the kidnappers and police.

In a midnight rescue operation, a Delhi Police crime branch team led by a Deputy Commissioner of Police-rank officer, rescued the kidnapped child from the kidnappers’ hideout in Ghaziabad.

The kidnappers were armed and opened fire at the police. The police retaliated in self defence to rescue the kidnapped child.

Two of the kidnappers were injured and brought to GTB Hospital. One of them, Ravi, was declared dead.

The other, Pankaj is undergoing treatment and the third, Nitin has been arrested. The child has been has been sent to his parents.

Further investigation is underway.
