Police on Monday rejected the plea of a female actor to withdraw three cases against director Jean Paul Lal and three others for making lewd remarks at her and cheating her.

The actor’s plea to close the case comes following her statement that she had sorted out the issue with the director through talks.

The actor had earlier complained that she did not get remuneration for acting in Jean Paul’s Honey Bee 2 and that the makers made lewd remarks at her when she went to ask for it. She also alleged that the film makers used her body double in the movie without her permission.

A case was registered against Jean Paul, son of actor-director Lal, actor Sreenath Bhasi and film technicians Anoop and Anirudh. The four were booked under IPC Sections 354 A (making sexually coloured remarks) and 420 (cheating).

Though the actor said the issue was settled, police said the charges other than that concerning refusal of payment cannot be settled out of court citing bad precedent.
