2019 has begun on a happy note for Ankit Tiwari. The music composer and singer, who is known for chartbusters like Teri Galliyan (Ek Villain) and Sunn Raha Hai Na Tu (Aashiqui 2), has just become father to a baby girl.

Ankit and his wife Pallavi Shukla have named their daughter Arya. The name was suggested by the Mahesh Bhatt, who gave the singer his big break in Aashiqui 2.

Ankit announced the happy news on his Instagram account with an adorable picture of his bundle of joy cradled in his arms. His wife Pallavi is also seen in the frame.

“The best gift god gave me this year is my daughter. Welcome to the world little girl. Most important thing one of the Greatest director of India @maheshfilm Sahab has named her #aryatiwari. (sic)” he captioned it.

Ankit tied the knot with Pallavi, a Bengaluru-based mechanical engineer, on February 23, 2018. It was an arranged marriage – Ankit’s paternal grandmother met Pallavi on a train from Delhi to Kanpur and instantly bonded with her.

Before his wedding, Ankit had told a leading daily, “She is a very sweet and simple girl. During our first meeting there were 10 others seated between us.”

Talking about the new addition to the family, Ankit told a newspaper that he was feeling “on top of the world”. “It is hard to express my feelings in words. Holding my baby in my arms has been the best moment of my life. I feel like I’m on top of the world. My family is complete, and more importantly, Pallavi is fit and doing fine,” he said.
