India Handloom Brand opens first store in Coimbatore

As part of its expansion plan, the India Handloom Brand (IHB) opened its network in Coimbatore today.
In a press release, Alok Kumar, Development Commissioner (Handloom), Ministry of Textiles, said that the “First Home of India Handloom Brand Products” store in PSR Silk, is an excellent retail platform, exclusively for India Handloom brand’s high quality products.
The five major metro cities in the country – Delhi (2), Bengaluru, Mumbai, Chennai and Kolkata – already have the First Home of India Handloom Brand Products outlets, selling various IHB products. IHB has identified 83 locations to open such stores in future.
Alok Kumar said that IHB focuses on retaining the sanctity of the traditional hand-woven
textiles while moulding the styles for a more contemporary look. He added that premium branding will enable the weavers to use good quality raw material and produce high quality products and enhance their sales and earnings.
