Childless for 14 years, man commits suicide

Frustrated with not being able to beget a child after 14 years of marriage, a 49-year-old man from Pollachi, committed suicide by consuming poison here in Coimbatore on Saturday.
According to police, the deceased, C. Nagamanickam got married to Saraswathy (45) 14 years ago. The couple had no children. This has been haunting the family for a long time and there were frequent quarrels between the husband and wife.
Frustrated with this, Nagamanickam consumed poison on Saturday. But he had immediately informed one of his friends, and was rushed to a nearby hospital. However, he succumbed on the way to the hospital.
A case has been registered with the Pollachi police, and investigations are on.
