Tamil Makkal Munnetra Kazhagam founder-president John Pandian today warned that the Government officials from Kerala would not be allowed to enter Tamil Nadu, if the State failed to drop its move to construct a dam across Siruvani, the lifeline of three neighbouring districts of Coimbatore.

“The dam, if constructed, will deprive both drinking and irrigation waters to Coimbatore, Erode and Tirupur districts, putting the people into lot of hardship,” John Pandian told reporters here, on the sidelines of a protest demonstration here against the dam construction.

He criticised the BJP-led Central government for giving green signal to Kerala in this regard. Stating that the party workers would stop the vegetable supplies to Kerala from Tamil Nadu, John Pandian said that they would also picket in front of Kerala government offices in the State.

On Cauvery issue, he hoped that the water would reach Tamil Nadu, following assurance by Karnataka Chief Minister, Siddaramiah.
