Tata Motors has launched its new BS IV-ready medium and heavy duty trucks in the State.
The vehicles have ‘exhaust gas recirculation’ (EGR) and selective catalytic reduction’ (SCR) technologies, perfected by the company, to meet the latest emission standards, according to a statement today.
Over 20 models of BS IV-compliant trucks were at display during the launch of `Truck World’ at Salem near here on last Thursday.
The company is the only OEM (original equipment manufacturer) to offer both EGR and SCR technologies for its entire range of commercial vehicles, it said.
With SCR technology, Tata Motors will also be able to develop upcoming emission-compliant product solutions. “For over the last six decades we at Tata Motors has led technology shifts in the Indian medium and heavy duty trucking space, having developed futuristic products and solutions ahead of its time,” according to Rajesh Kaul, Head, Sales and Marketing, Medium and Heavy Commercial Vehicles of the company.
Tata Motors has been exporting its products to Russia, Australia, Europe, South East Asia and Latin America, where emission regulations have been ahead of India, he added.
