2ND GRADUATION CEREMONY OF PSG ALLIED HEALTH SCIENCES

The second graduation ceremony of the PSG Allied Health Sciences programs, conducted under the aegis of the PSG Institute of Medical Sciences and Research, was held on the 20th of December, 2023.

On this day, 68 graduates with Bachelor of Science in the various allied Health Sciences programs received their certificates. While the degrees are granted by the Tamil Nadu Dr. MGR Medical University, the college issued their course completion certificates today.

The chief guest of the occasion was Professor Dr Chakravarthy Narasimhachar SRINIVAS, Vice president- Technical, HLA and Transplantation Immunology lab, Agilus Diagnostics, Central reference laboratory, Chennai. He is a Pathologist par excellence with over 30 years of experience in Laboratory Medicine, Pathology and Transplantation Immunology. He said that Allied health sciences play a vital and indispensable role in a hospital setting, contributing to the comprehensive and multidisciplinary approach to healthcare. These professionals work collaboratively with medical practitioners to support patient care, diagnosis, treatment, and rehabilitation. Their diverse roles contribute to patients’ holistic well-being and enhance the overall effectiveness of healthcare services in a hospital setting. Therefore, their role is vital to every healthcare system’s success.

Speaking on the occasion, the Principal of PSG Institute of Medical Sciences and Research, Dr. T. M. SubbaRao recalled all the academic achievements of the batch and also mentioned how the institute took various steps in their holistic development by encouraging them to conduct conferences, participate in state and national conferences, participate in various sports and cultural activities and so on.
Ms Serena Sarah Anand received the Dr J S Bhuvaneswaran Gold Medal for Outstanding Performance in B.Sc. Cardiac Technology Course.

Miss Amana Rashid, BSc Cardiac Pulmonary Perfusion Care technology won the Best Outgoing Graduate certificate.

Dr B. Devanand, Professor and Head of Radiology, welcomed the gathering while Dr G. Jayachandran, the program in charge of PSG Allied Health Sciences, delivered the Vote of Thanks.
