A six member gang looted Rs.1 lakh in cash and 30 sovereigns of gold ornaments after tying the owner in his house near Tirupur, early in the morning today.

According to police, the gang entered the house through the rear door and tied up the house owner, industrialist Sathyaprabhu, with rope and removed the cash and valuables from an almirah in the house, located in Kuppuchipalayam.

The gang fled in a car that was parked outside the house. The vehicle belonged to one Prabhu. Search is on for the robbers.
