A 35-year old tribal woman was found lying dead on the fence of a private farm in Semmedu, on the outskirts of Coimbatore. The area comes under the Poluvampatti range.

The body of Ramathal was lying on the fence, indicating that she had come into contact with the electrified fence that was erected to prevent wild animals entering the farm, police said. She was returning home last evening after taking the goats for grazing in the area.

Officials of the forest department and the electricity board are investigating.
