Agitating lawyers burn copies of amended act

A group of lawyers in Coimbatore and Tirupur today burned the copies of the amended Advocates Act, as part of their ongoing protest seeking its immediate withdrawal.

The have been protesting, for nearly a fortnight now, seeking the withdrawal of the amendments made to the Advocates Act. As part of the agitation, the advocates burned the copies near the District Court complex here.

A few lawyers also attempted to burn the photograph of Madras High Court Chief Justice, S.K. Kaul.

The lawyers also burned copies of the amendment near Sub Court in Tirupur.
