Like his elder brother, Mega star Chiranjeevi, Pavan Kalyan too announces plans to enter electoral fray at a rally at Ananthapur, as he says he is tired of the mega corruption of Naidu government and Centre’s step motherly treatment to Andhra Pradesh.

Power star Pavan Kalyan, brother of Megastar Chiranjeevi, has begun flexing his political muscles and on Thursday announced his entry into electoral politics and declared that he would fight 2019 assembly polls. He has floated a political party, Jana Sena, and said the first branch of his political party office outside Hyderabad will be set up at Ananthapur.

Addressing a well-attended rally, Pavan Kalyan, mounted a front attack against the Central government and Telugu Desam party in Andhra Pradesh and asserted that he was entering the fray on behalf of the people who were completely disgusted with the double speak of the political parties and the way the new state was cheated by the central government, the Congress and the BJP. Corruption of the Telugu Desam Party and the way BJP leader M Venkaiah Naidu was still cheating the state and robbing it of the just demands of “special status” to Andhra Pradesh.

“The centre has not given anything special to Andhra Pradesh, and it has given only what was Andhra Pradesh was routinely getting,” Pavan Kalyan said to cheers of his die hard supporters and fans congregated at the sprawling grounds in the heart of Ananthapur town.

Pavan Kalyan, the younger brother of mega star Chiranjeevi who ruled the Telugu filmdom for many years, launched his own political party only to merge with the Congress later, had launched his own political outfit – Jana Sena. “I will definitely fight the 2019 assembly elections, “ power star declared adding that he was giving voice to the people and the way they were completely left to fend for themselves by the Chandra Babu Naidu government.

Corruption has increased manifold in the new government, the film star turned politician said. “This is a fight for the people, on principles, “ Pavan Kalyan said and added that “I have no personal enmity with anyone – the Congres, the BJP, YSR Congress or TDP.”

Incidentally, Pavan Kalyan wants to step into the space vacated by the Congress and take on the opposition space now occupied by the YSR Congress party.

For good measure, he stepped up his attack against both the Congress and the BJP in equal measure. Just like the Congress split Andhra Pradesh in two states at midnight clandestinely. Exactly in a similar fashion, the BJP too gave the so-called package after a midnight meeting in Delhi, he alleged.

Even though I have tremendous respect for Narendra Modi as the prime minister, but when injustice is being done to Andhra Pradesh, I cannot sit quiet and have to raise my voice and fight for it. This is why, I have decided to fight elections against all the other parties in the forthcoming polls, scheduled for 2019, Pavan Kalyan said.

“I had even campaigned for Modi ji in the general elections,” he said but added, “we are completely disappointed with the manner in which the centre too has cheated Andhra Pradesh.”
