BJP steps up attack against Amma.

Saffron party says both AIADMK and DMK corrupt and only the BJP promises a corruption free governance.

BJP has begun flexing its political muscles, despite having failed to hang to most of its allies of general elections – DMDK of Captain Vijayakanth, MDMK of Vaiko and Ramadoss of Pattali Makkal Katchi – with a renewed vigor on Thursday.

Union environment and fore, sts minister Prakash Javadekar tore into the two Dravidian parties for being corrupt but singled out Jayalalithaa and her government for particular attention. “Jayalalithaa government is simply not interested in honest people of Tamil Nadu and is helping the thieves of power by refusing to participate in central government scheme of Udayam under which LED bulbs were installed across cities,” said Javadekar, who is also party
incharge for Tamil Nadu for the elections.

Tasking off where union power minister Piyush Goyal left off, Javadekar said the power minister had spoken about his own experiences with Tamil Nadu government and its chief minister. By its actions, the Tamil Nadu government has shown that it is not interested in cutting down losses, increase in efficiency and power supply to the common
man.

It is only interested in helping the thieves of power,” Javadekar said launching into a full-scale attack against Jayalalithaa and her regime. Dismissing recent remarks by Tamil Nadu power minister that the Udayam scheme only benefitted some private players and the banks, the minister rubbished the allegations and said if this was so then
why did non-BJP governments in Uttar Pradesh, Himachal Pradesh, Bihar and Uttarakhand sign up for the programme?

They joined because they realized that the scheme would benefit their people, he said. Both AIADMK and the DMK are corrupt and work for commission whereas the BJP works with a vision for a mission without commission, he said
outlining the basic theme of the BJP campaign for the general elections.

According to him around Rs 1.80 lakh crore will be saved through this scheme and it will bring lot of discoms out of the red, including the one in Tamil Nadu. The Minister said Tamil Nadu discom has reported around Rs 12,000 crore loss last year.

“The scheme will ensure turnaround, improve efficiency and will control loss and ensure quality power supply to common people,” said Javadekar. He hoped that Tamil Nadu will relalise this someday and
will join the scheme.

It is Tamil Nadu government’s attitude that is costing the state dear. Even in environment space, TN government failed to respond to central government programme on Western Ghats and did not submit its proposals while five coastal states had done so.

He said, except for Tamil Nadu all the other five states have submitted their report on Western Ghats. They include Gujarat, Kerala, Karnataka, Maharastra and Goa. “For the last one year we are asking them (Tamil Nadu Government), but they have not submitted, now they have asked time till May.”

Javadekar’s diatribe against Jayalalithaa and her government only adds fuel to the war of words between the BJP and AIADMK, ahead of elections. Last week, Piyush Goyal had said it was impossible to meet TN chief minister despite several attempts.

Goyal said he made several attempts to contact ministers in the Jayalalithaa government. He was quoted saying he had access to 28 States but for the 29th State, when Iwant to talk to someone, I can’t. I call up and talk to the power minister and he says he will get back to me after he speaks with Amma,” Goyal said.

AIADMK rubbished these allegations and said that they were purely politically motivated by a party that was piqued that it did not have any worthwhile allies in the state. It had hoped for an alliance with AIDMK, but when it failed, it has begun to attack Amma and TN government, said an AIADMK leader.

Its spokesperson CR Saraswathy told press persons after Javadekar launched his verbal attack alleging that the BJP was upset that it could not enter into an alliance with AIADMK. Which is why, she said, they are coming out with such allegations.

Has the BJP done anything to solve Tamil Nadu’s burning issues, whether it is drinking water, or Tamil fishermen she asked and said people will teach the BJP a lesson for raising non-issues.
