The BJP began its official election campaign in Tamil Nadu by accusing both the DMK and AIADMK of being corrupt. The BJP national president, Amit Shah, addressed an election rally in the state on Wednesday.
Projecting the BJP as an alternative to both the Dravidian parties, Shah said that there was no development in Tamil Nadu due to widespread corruption.
Amit Shah also contradicted the Tamil Nadu Chief Minister’s statement that UDAY was not beneficial for the state and pointed out at all the other states that had benefited from it.
Calling for an end to the AIADMK and DMK rule that Tamil Nadu had seen for the last 50 years, Amit Shah promised that, if elected, BJP will give a transparent governance in the state.
