The final voters’ list issued by District Collector Archana Patnaik here on Wednesday has 28,06,690 voters.

The Election Commission of Tamil Nadu had previously stated that the voters list would be issued on Wednesday and would be published.

There are as many as 13,97,938 male voters, 14,08,509 females, and 243 third genders, in all the 10 Assembly constituencies in Coimbatore.

District Collector said that the District Administration had received 1,06,597 applications for addition and deletion of names, out of which 1,05,034 applications have been approved and 1,563 applications were cancelled for various reasons.

She further added that 80,758 new voters have been newly added in the list, of which 40,867 are males, 39,829 are females and 62 third genders. “36,531 voters have been removed from the list and 44,227 have been added,” she said.

A release from the District Administration has also stated that there would be 2,892 polling stations in 949 locations. The list would be revised one more time after 15 days as the voters are given a 15 day period to apply for corrections in the voters’ list if any. There would also be two special camps on January 31, 2016, and February 06, 2016, respectively.
