Collector distributes colour voter ID

District Collector Archana Patnaik on Monday distributed colour voter ID cards to first time voters at a felicitation function for district election booth officials here at the Government College of Technology on National Voters’ Day.

Distributing the ID cards, she said that the contribution of election booth officials in creating the voters’ list and making arrangements before elections was very appreciable. “We celebrate the National Voters’ Day to commemorate the hardships put in by these officials,” she said.

Addressing the youth who received their voter ID cards for the first time she asked them to register online so as to rectify errors, if any, immediately.

“The number of voters has increased this year and likewise, the voting percentage should also increase,” she pointed out.

New voters along with the Collector pledged to vote with full responsibility.
