Tamil film composer, Anirudh Ravichandran appeared before Race Course Road police in connection with the controversial ‘Beep song,’ sung by film actor Simbu and said to be composed by him.
According to police, Anirudh appeared before the inspector around 11 p.m. on Monday and submitted a two-page statement, explaining his position on the song. Many organisations had taken objection to the song for being vulgar and denigrating women, following which summons were issued to him and Simbu.
The High Court had asked Simbu to appear before the police in Coimbatore on January 29.
In a WhatsApp message Anirudh said: “As required, I have reported to the police in Coimbatore in person and given my statement. Thanks to the fans and every one for your love and support as always.”
Anirudh had denied that he was the composer of the song.
