CRI Pumps honours farmers with Velaanmai Chemmal Award

Five farmers, including two women, were honoured with the Velaanmai Chemmal Awards this year. The awards were given away to the farmers during the ceremony held in Coimbatore.

CRI Pumps, a company that manufactures and sells agricultural pumps, has joined hands with the agricultural universities across the country to recognize and reward farmers who are doing exceptionally well. In Tamil Nadu, the company has partnered with the Tamilnadu Agriculture University to present the Velaanmai Chemmal Awards.

This year V. Krishnan from Madurai, S. Jayalakshmi from Salem, P. Sasikumar from Kanyakumari district, Sripriya Varadheeswaran from Kamanur village near Dindigul, and M. Deivamani from Mannargudi in Thiruvarur district were recognized for their significant achievements in agriculture.

R.Vaithilingam, the Minister of Housing, Urban Development and Agriculture, gave away the awards to the farmers.

S.P. Velumani, Minister for Municipal Administration; district collector Archana Patnaik; V. Jayaraman, Deputy Speaker of the Tamilnadu Legislative Assembly; Dr. K. Ramasamy, Vice Chancellor of TNAU; P. Rajkumar, Corporation Mayor of Coimbatore; R. Boopathy, Vice President – Marketing of C.R.I. Pumps; and C. Kumar, Associate Vice President – Marketing, C.R.I. Pumps were also present at the award function.
