Driver bites nose of passenger during quarrel

A Government bus driver bit the nose of a person, following a quarrel over alighting from the bus at Dharapuram in Tirupur District.

According to police, Selvaraj, a driver attached to Tirupur State Transport Corporation, and Sasikumar, running a car workshop in Palladam, were engaged in a quarrel last evening, while the latter was alighting from the bus in Dharapuram Bus Stand.

It was said that Selvaraj had pushed Sasikumar while he alighting from bus. The wordy quarrel led to fisticuff and some passengers intervened and separated them, but not before Selvaraj bit the nose of Sasikumar, they said.

Some persons in the bus stand took a bleeding Sasikumar to the Dharapuram Government Hospital and after first aid, he was brought and admitted to a private hospital here, where he was recovering, after a surgery, police added.

A case has been registered against Selvaraj, following complaint by the victim.
