Even as the district administration is gearing up to host the government sponsored job fair to help candidates find jobs in private sectors, job seekers from all over the district have started to queue up to register themselves.

The fair is being jointly organized by the Tamil Nadu Employment Board and the Coimbatore district administration. It will be held at the Sri Krishna Engineering College Grounds on January 10. More than 1 lakh candidates and 500 companies from all over the state are expected to participate. Around 25,000 candidates are expected to be recruited at the job fair.

A higher official from the district administration said that jobs from various fields, including Information Technology, hardware, textile units, BPOs, medicine, industrial training, engineering, and teaching, will be up for the taking at the job fair. “Candidates from Class V to degree- and diploma-holders can participate,” the official added.

Candidates who wish to be considered for the jobs must register themselves by filling up the forms that are now available, free of cost, at all the government offices in the district, including the Collectorate, local offices, and even at the ration shops,” the official said.

No online registration is available, as of now. The last date of registration is January 9.

The official has also informed that candidates from all the districts can participate in the job fair, and free buses will be provided from all the major bus stands in Coimbatore district to the venue.

The government sponsored job fair will be open from 8.00 am to 6.15 pm.
