A number of people have evinced interest in providing shelter to Bhadra, who was thrown from a terrace by a medical college student.

The dog, that was named Bhadra (that means warrior), has been getting a number visitors – both the general public and the media. “A number of people have been offering help to meet the expenses of her treatment, care and also adoption,” Shravan Krishnan, an animal rights activist said today.

Stating that he would not accept any donation for the treatment. Shravan said the only concern was to find a ‘perfect home’ for Bhadra after complete recovery.

According to Dr. R. Jayaprakash, the veterinarian treating Bhadra, the dog had suffered two fractures – one in the spine and another on the right leg. “It will take at least another three weeks to heal,” he said.

Few days ago, a video of a youth throwing a dog from a terrace and another one shooting the act in Kunrathur near Chennai, went viral. It created a furore among the public who demanded their immediate arrest and severe punishment for the two.

The two – Gowtham Sudharshan and Ashish Paul (both medical college students) – were arrested after a complaint was lodged with the police by an activist. Today they were released on bail.
