Even as film stars and celebrities continue to support the ban on Jallikattu, rapper-turned-music director Hip Hop Thamizha has made a music video in favour of the sport.

In a short film titled ‘Takkaru Takkaru,’ Hip Hop Thamizha said that ban on Jallikattu would result in “the eradication of our identity.” Using strong words, he said that the issue was about the country and its culture, and not just about the bulls.

Calling Jallikattu a blood sport that is rooted in the culture of Tamil Nadu and its people, he had also claimed that corporate companies are trying to stop the sport to wipe out the bulls.

In a series of interviews, Jallikattu lovers and cattle rearers have also said that if the uncastrated bulls that are used in Jallikattu are eradicated, it would be easy for the multinational companies to create a demand in the market for sex select semen, for which only the MNCs possess the pattern rights.

In a song in the video, Hip Hop Thamizha has claimed that if people lose Jallikattu, they will lose their tradition and identity, which, in turn, would make them refugees in their own lands.

Further, he has also shown the love of farmers towards cattle and the bulls used in Jallikattu.
