The 57th National Convention of the Institute of Cost Accountants of India (ICAI) will be held in Delhi from January 30.
Union Finance Minister, Arun Jaitley will be the chief guest at the two-day convention on the theme “Building Cost Competitiveness – Mission Make in India”, Chairperson of local chapter of ICAI, Meena Ramji told reporters here today.
The convention would seek to address the challenges in building cost competitiveness and explore the contributions that CMA (Cost and Management Accountant) could make to foster the Indian economy by playing a catalytic role in the accomplishment of the mission “Make in India,” she said.
Stating that one plenary session and six technical sessions were focused on the objective of Make in India, Meena said the Institute had taken initiatives to bring in health care, MSME, GST, social sectors and local bodies into this fold.
The Institute was trying to help identify the true cost of service in health care, which would make the treatments affordable for the poor and the needy, as well as make health care affordable to all, she said.
About 1,000 members from across the country are expected to participate in the convention, which would showcase the role of CMAs in bringing in cost competitiveness in various sectors, Meena said.
