Kejriwal turns down Vijayakanth’s proposal

The Arvind Kejriwal-led Aam Aadmi Party has announced that it will not support any alliance in the upcoming state elections. This follows attempts by Vijayakanth’s DMDK and the People’s Welfare Front to invite the AAP to their alliance.

AAP’s success in the Delhi elections has been the big inspiration for a number of parties that are in the fray this time, promising to be the alternate to both the Dravidian parties

MDMK general secretary Vaiko had met the AAP state convener Vaseegaran on Friday and held talks with him in an attempt to add the AAP to the PWF’s alliance list. But, the AAP’s stand was made clear by the party’s senior leader and in-charge of Tamil Nadu, Somnath Bharti, in a letter to the MDMK Vaiko.

Bharti explained that the AAP is closely watching the political events in Tamil Nadu and has decided to not extend support to any alliance or party in the state during the elections,
