Kerala preferred to have a cordial relationship with the neighbouring states and always favoured dialogue to solve differences, according to the State Finance and Coir Minister T.M. Isaac.
Replying to mediapersons’ queries on the long pending Mullaiperiyar issue between Tamil Nadu and Kerala, Isaac, who was here to attend the fourth edition of India International Coir Fair, said the issue could be solved through dialogue.
“We are all neighbours, The problems can be solved through talks,” he said.
On interlinking of State rivers, he said nobody had attempted to analyse the availability of water in the region. At the same time he made it clear that his State had no surplus water to share with others.
To a specific question on the murders of CPI(M) and RSS workers, Isaac said it was unfortunate.
On the check post at Walayar on the Tamil Nadu-Kerala border, he said an integrated check post would be in place in another three months that would help ease the traffic snarls, congestion and inordinate delay in movement of transport.
