A French national, who went missing while travelling from Thiruvananthapuram to Puttaparthi by train, was found lying unconscious on the railway track near Nanjundapuram and admitted to the Coimbatore Medical College Hospital (CMCH) here on Tuesday.
According to the Railway police, the septuagenarian was found to be Cameroon who had come to India a month ago along with his wife and daughter.
He went missing during their train journey and the family members had registered a complaint with the Railway police in Bengaluru.
Finding Cameroon on the Railway track, passersby tipped off the Podanur Railway police who sent him to CMCH as he had sustained minor injuries and was bleeding.
However, his condition was stable according to CMCH officials and had gained consciousness.
Meanwhile, the police are investigating whether Cameroon fell down from the train accidentally or someone pushed him down from the moving train as he had sustained injuries.
