An engineering graduate from Podanur has entered the Limca Book of World Records for the third time, by inflating 1000 balloons in 2 hours and 26 minutes, here on Sunday.
Saddam Hussain, an engineering graduate from Coimbatore, was working as a part-timer in an event management company. Most of the time his job was to inflate balloons which are used for decoration.
Interestingly, this part time job of his has landed him right in the Limca Book of World Records. “I used to practice inflating balloons at a fast pace during my job just for fun and soon it became a habit. I kept doing it again and again,” he said.
Saddam Hussain first entered the Limca record book when he inflated 486 balloons in one hour. In an attempt to beat his previous record, Hussain inflated 837 balloons in 2 hours. Hussain broke his own record once again by inflating 1000 balloons in exactly 2 hours and 26 minutes. With this feat, he has now entered the Limca Book of World Records and the Golden Book of Records.
A jubilant Hussain, who was lifted in the air by friends and family members after achieving the feat, said that he has been practicing for many months. “This is a happy occasion for me and my family. My next aim is to find a place in the Guinness Book of World Records and I’m confident that I will find a place soon,” he said.
