Nirmala Seetharaman, the Union Minister of State for Commerce and Industry, will be the chief guest for a session on Start-up India, being organised on February 21.
Swathy Rohit, the chair of Young Indians’ Coimbatore chapter, who are the joint organizer of the event, said that the session will discuss and create awareness about the scheme to the budding entrepreneurs, industrialist and incubators. Swathy also pointed out that, of the nearly 1,000 participants, 30 percent are women, and 10 percent are from the low income group.
D. Nandakumar, president of the local chapter of Indian Chamber of Commerce and Industry, another organizer of the event, said that one successful entrepreneur will share his experience about the start up climate in the city.
In addition to the session, Nandakumar said that selected star-ups from the region will also exhibit their products and services at the expo, which will happen concurrently on February 21.
