‘NSS activities can help people learn more on cashless transactions’

People need more clarity on cashless transactions and they should be taught more on mobile banking, and this can be done through various NSS activities, said Dr. R. Bhaskar, NSS Coordinator, Bharathiar University.

Addressing the NSS cadres and Youth Red Cross members of Sri Krishna Adithya College of Arts and Science at Kovaipudur, he said NSS units of various colleges can work to address the needs of the public on creating awareness on demonitisation and digital India programmes.

The college recently started the National Service Scheme (NSS) and Youth Red Cross (YRC).

“The National Service Scheme of Bharathiar University aims to develop the student’s personality and also serves the local community needs through its activities. NSS special camp and regular activities should cover the Swachh Bharat Mission, asset creations, tree plantations, awareness about various social problems,” he said.

Dr. A. Alagarsamy, YRC District Organiser, Coimbatore and Head of the Department of Social Work of Sri Krishna Arts and Science College, said YRC should conduct more awareness programmes on blood donation and disaster management.
Dr. K. Sundararaman, CEO of the institutions, initiated the programme and Principal Dr. V. Radhika, NSS Programme officer Dr. Balaji, YRC Programme Officer, Prof. K. Kumaresan, teaching faculty, NSS and YRC volunteers participated in the programme.
