With the AIADMK General Secretary claiming that she has the majority to take over the reins of the State, director and actor Manobala has told Covai Post that Chief Minister O. Panneerelvam is still in contact with the MLAs who are with the V.K. Sasikala team.

The actor, who showed his support to OPS at his residence in Greenways Road on Sunday, also reaffirmed that OPS will form the government with a thumping majority as more MLAs will offer support to him.

“They are in touch with OPS in different ways and once they are out, then you will know who the next CM is,” he said.

Manobala also claimed that most of the MLAs were being held against their will in the resort and were also forced to speak in favour of Sasikala. “They are surrounded by goondas now and have no option but to stay put. They are under pressure and risk,” the actor said.

Questioning why Sasikala had not removed all OPS supporters from the party, Manobala also said that OPS supporters were moving freely without pressure.

“It is the Sasikala team that is forcing people to support them. But the support for OPS is very natural. I myself received so many calls from Poes Garden right from the morning, but I chose to support OPS because people are with him,” he told Covai Post.

Manobala also alleged that there were many mysteries surrounding the death of former Chief Minister J. Jayalalithaa as things were done in hurry. “The whole world has this doubt because there was no transparency. The hurry shown by Sasikala’s team in taking up the reins of the party and TN immediately after the death has also raised many doubts,” he added.

Being one of the star campaigners for AIADMK, Manobala also complained that most of the star campaigners were sidelined after Jayalalithaa’s demise. “Most of us are not in touch with the party and have left Poes Garden. Only a few remain and they too will leave soon,” Manobala informed.

Manobala also asserted that people were supporting OPS wholeheartedly as he was handpicked for the Chair by Jayalalithaa. “Not just Manobala, anyone who comes to meet OPS is accepted to his side wholeheartedly. The mood here is positive and support is tremendous. OPS will be the Chief Minister and AIADMK will thrive,” Manobala opined.
