The Hindu Religious and Charitable Endowment Board has lodged a complaint that some persons were misusing the name of the Vanabhadrakaliamman temple in Mettupalayam and collecting parking fee for the ongoing elephant rejuvenation camp.
The complaint said that some persons were issuing token for Rs.30 as car parking fee on a vacant land belonging to a private party, behind the Vanabhadrakaliamman temple, just a few metres away from the camp. The department has clarified that no orders were issued by the temple authorities to collect parking fees, and has requested the police to take immediate action against the culprits. The Karamadai police are investigating.
