Sudents demand cancellation of public exam for Plus I; seek NEET exemption

Boycotting quarterly examinations, a section of students of Vellalore Government Higher Secondary school in the city, today staged a demonstration inside the school premises seeking exemption for NEET.

Besides exemption from NEET, the students also raised slogans demanding cancellation of public examinations for plus one.The students claimed that public exams for both Plus I and II were turning out to be additional burden on the students, particularly Government schools, they said.

Some parents were also seen supporting the cause of the students, who were holding placards with their demands, especially for cancelling the public examination for plus one, police said.

On information, police rushed to the spot and took President of Parent Teachers Association, Veeramani and a few others into custody, for reportedly instigating the students.
