Electric bicycles from Hulikkal Cycles by Prashant Goel

With a manufacturing unit and corporate office located in Coimbatore, Hulikkal Electro India Pvt. Ltd. (Hulikkal) has launched, according to the company, India’s first Lithium-Ion battery technology-based electric vehicles.

Its owner Prashant Goel tells us that before he ventured into this business of making and selling electric vehicles, a market research in electric bicycles and scooters was carried out for four long years. “Hulikkal believes in an inclusive growth philosophy, encompassing all the stakeholders – the environment, company, its employees, suppliers, dealers, and customers. We are an innovation-driven company and intend to have sales and service partners across the country and become leading players in all segments that we are present,” Prashant says. Currently, this company manufactures and sells six varieties of electric bicycles.

Paal.co, Paal Organic Milk, produce by Anil Kumar, Udhaya Krishna, and Ramnath R.

Anil Kumar, one of the founders of Paal Organic Milk produce, has had many instances where his customers who had purchased milk return it complaining that it had split. “The milk is of very high quality which is why it has a short shelf life,” he explains. “It took us some time to make our customers understand this. However, today our customers know and understand the value of our organic milk.”

Awareness, he feels, can change the way customers think. Three childhood friends – Anil Kumar, Udhaya Krishna, and Ramnath R – joined hands and started paal.co dairy farms. This business was started with three cows and a farmland owned by the friends. A few friends made financial investments in the past one year. Currently, paal.co undertakes orders for organic milk online that can be delivered to the door-step the following morning. The milk is delivered in glass bottles.

Baby clothes from Nadhi by Poornima B Joshi

While she was just 19 years old, Poornima visited the Noyyal River in Tirupur, a land famous for manufacturing and exporting garments. “My heart broke seeing the dead fish and the highly polluted river. At the dying unit, they asked me to not even touch the treated water as it was so toxic. It has been a long journey from there to finally be able to bring Nadhi (river) to you,” Poornima says.

This prompted her to start manufacturing and selling organic clothes for babies and she has christened her brand, Nadhi. Ranjith Kumar, who has a yarn manufacturing unit, touched the material of the jablas, and said “It feels so soft, like grandma’s old cotton sari that is normally used for the newborns.”

The fabrics that are used to manufacture the baby clothes save the earth from 8000 chemicals. The water used to dye is so pure that it is reused as liquid manure.
