Peoples Welfare Front coordinator, Vaiko on Saturday stepped up his fight against the DMK by charging DMK treasurer and former deputy chief minister MK Stalin with involvement in 2G spectrum scam.

Addressing a group of lawyers in Tiruchirapalli, Vaiko said that Stalin was also involved in the 2G scam and he dared the DMK leader to file defamation case against him. Refusing to withdraw his statements alleging offer of crores of rupees to Vijayakanth by the DMK and the BJP, Vaiko said many things were happening behind the back of DMK
patriarch M Karunanidhi.

“I am not going to take back my words,” Vaiko said in response to a question from the press persons. Vaiko had alleged that the BJP was offering huge sums of money and a Rajya Sabha seat and a minister’s post in the central government to DMDK in return for his joining the NDA.

This was denied flatly by union minister Pon Radhakrishnan who said Vaiko must apologize for spreading utter falsehood. But when Vaiko himself was confronted with counter allegation, from an anchor of a television channel he got infuriated and walked out in a huff. The anchor of a television channel, interviewing Vaiko had begun to ask a question if it was true that a sum of Rs 1500 crore was paid to him by the AIADMK, when Vaiko suddenly got up from his sofa, pulled out the mike and just walked out.

Pleadings from the anchor to listen to his question fell on deaf ears. PMK leader and its chief ministerial candidate, Anbumani Ramadoss said, after attending an party meeting convened by chief electoral officer, Rajesh Lakhoni, “we have heard that parties had offered crores of rupees to Vijayakanth join their party. We demand a detailed and thorough investigation into all these allegations immediately.
