Ward 21 overflows with woes

While residents of most Wards have grievances and wants, the 250 families in Tank Bed Line Colony belonging to Ward 21 have a very long list of complaints. And, one has to only enter the Colony to know that it is true.

There is not even a single public toilet for these people. It is pity that people are using the open space near the Colony to answer Nature’s call. Garbage from more than five Wards lie in front of their Colony.

The drainage is not closed. Mosquitoes swarm the place and no one can stand anywhere near it. Most of the drains seem to overflow and they are a clear indication that sanitary workers never visit the Ward for cleaning.

The residents lament that none of their houses have attached toilets / bathrooms. They are forced to use the public toilet that belongs to Ward 20, in addition to using the open areas. There is an urgent need for constructing public toilets.

Drinking water is supplied only once in five days and that too at mid night. It is very tough for people to fill the water during that time. The residents say that the Councillor has not visited the Ward even once in the last four years.

E. Senthil, AIADMK Councillor of Ward 21, was not willing to talk to the Covai Post.
