“Will act if interesting characters come my way”: Director S.A. Chandrasekar

Veteran director and father of actor Vijay, S.A. Chandrasekar has said that he would act if he was offered to play interesting characters.

He was in the city on Monday to promote his latest movie Naiyappudai directed by a 19-year old debut director named Vijaya Kiran.

Chandrasekhar, who had recently hung up his directing boots, was featuring in guest roles. He is also currently shooting for the movie Kodi starring Dhanush and Trisha.“I have been in cinema for more than 45 years. I cannot be without it. It is like breathing.”

Chandrasekhar also adds that he being a person who is closely attached to whatever he does, he wants to make live usefully by acting in the time he gets.
“I had always wished that I breathe my last in a shooting set so that I may rest in peace,” he adds.

Talking about his recent film, Chandrasekhar says that he initially hesitated to work anymore after three days of shoot; however, he added that he decided to work after seeing the edited version of the three-day shoot.

“I am very impressed with this boy for his wonderful knowledge in camera angles, editing and the use of technology. He will go a long way,” says Chandrasekhar who is acting as a military veteran in the movie.

The film also stars P. Vijay in the lead role and actor Chanthini in the female lead.“People of this city always appreciate good story-based movies and support Tamil cinema. The city has also produced some wonderful actors and will always keep contributing to cinema,” he added.
